The Survivor Representation Project Family Law Attorney plays a critical role in ensuring that victims become survivors by providing quality and trauma-informed full representation, limited scope representation and legal advice in Family Court matters including restraining orders, child support, and custody proceedings. Will work closely with SRP Program Coordinator and FJC Director to ensure SRP provides responsive services to clients. This is a full-time position based out of the Family Justice Center in Elizabeth, NJ.
The Survivor Representation Project Immigration Attorney plays a critical role in ensuring that victims become survivors by providing quality and trauma-informed full representation and legal advice in immigration matters such as VAWA, U-Visa and T-Visa applications. This is a part-time position based out of the Family Justice Center in Elizabeth, NJ.
Provide crisis intervention, support, and resources to survivors at the time of a domestic violence incident – responding on location at police departments within Union County or remotely by phone. For more information please contact volunteer@ywcaunioncounty.org.

The Union County Family Justice Center (FJC) is a collaboration among existing public and private agencies in Union County, NJ, to provide support, services, and resources for victims of domestic violence, with the goal of making these services more accessible and available. The collaboration represents a true integration of services that is fully client-centered and meets the needs of clients in a holistic manner and in a single location. This internship is ideal for college or law students.
Requirements: Must complete 40-hour domestic violence training. Excellent verbal and written skills. Knowledge of computer programs including but not limited to Microsoft office, PowerPoint and Excel. Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
Essential Duties: FJC Interns assist across all aspects of the FJC including research projects, data entry, and working directly with domestic violence victims by providing them with the knowledge and support they need to successfully navigate the restraining order cases. This position will work closely with the Court Advocate and Director of the FJC.
